WOUND CARE
ABOUT WOUND CARE
Wound care is the medical process of treating and managing
skin injuries to ensure they heal effectively and to prevent complications such
as infection or scarring.
Proper care involves applying antibiotic ointment or petroleum jelly, covering with a sterile bandage, and changing it daily or when dirty, while a moist environment aids healing. For deeper wounds, signs of infection (pus, redness, fever), or chronic issues like diabetic ulcers, professional medical help is crucial for specialized treatments like advanced dressings, stitches, or addressing underlying conditions.
